This will be our second Christmas in our new location! PJ’s Forgotten Children is grateful to Valley Mental Health for providing us a space. We are all volunteers for this organization. All contributions go directly to the individuals we serve. We are grateful to our wonderful donors who allow us to reach so many families.

SUB FOR SANTA CHRISTMAS INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for your willingness to sponsor a child this year. We receive names of children in need from therapists from Valley Mental Health and school district case workers.  The application form contains information on the age, height, weight, and size of the child, and a favorite color. The “needs” listed are what are most helpful for the child. We ask that these needs be met if at all possible. We have included “interests” to help in choosing a gift for each child. “Comments and special requests” are generally more specific and costly items, filled only if you are able.

All gifts need to be returned by the second Saturday of December

For each child please include:

  • 1-2 new outfits
  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • Toy
  • Roll of gift wrap, bows, and roll of tape
  • Any specified needs
  • Warm gloves

Since shopping for shoes without the child is difficult, we have gift certificates available at P.J.’s from Payless Shoe Source for $25.00. We ask and would appreciate it if you purchase the needed shoe gift certificates from PJ’s Forgotten Children. (This is preferred as we are not billed for them until they are used). Please let us know how many you need when you deliver the gifts.

PJ’s can provide a knit hat, a scarf, a stuffed toy, a blanket and a filled Christmas stocking.

The families in our programs are so appreciative of anything you can do. We hope you have a wonderful experience.

Deliver your purchases to PJ’s in a large dark plastic bag with the family ID numbers and information sheet attached. Please do not wrap your gifts.  Wrapping gifts is a therapeutic activity for depressed parents and the reason we ask that you include gift wrapping supplies.

Individuals or groups may want to work together to provide a Sub for Santa for a family or several children. If sponsoring the entire Christmas for a child is beyond your resources we are happy to accept general donations such as new clothing, toys, or cash contributions.

To open the information sheet of each child you will help, open the attachment from your email. There are tabs at the bottom of the Excel spread sheet for each child. Be sure to print all excel sheets for each child in the family.

All gifts need to be returned by the FIRST SATURDAY in DECEMBER unless other arrangements have been made. Gifts will be distributed to the families later that week. Please fill out a donation form in our office with how much time and money was spent for our records and your tax receipt.
